Hi Baby! You are just about at the end of 37 weeks now and full term. At our last appointment, the doctor said that she doesn’t expect for you to hold out until your due date on November 3rd. That’s okay though, we’re ready for you anytime, and October is a great month – it has the best birthstone! :) Besides, I always felt like your real due date was October 28th.
A lot has happened since my last letter to you. Your daddy and I finished our prenatal classes with some lessons on our first weeks with you, basic care, and first aid. We met a few times with our Kine. She’s a physiotherapist that will be there at your birth to help me with relaxation and pushing. I had my 32nd birthday and my friends threw me a lovely baby shower. You received so many wonderful things from them. I’ve put together your crib, washed all your clothes and cloth diapers, and just need to pack the hospital bag now.
This past week, your daddy’s mom (Farmor) has been visiting, and we’ve been having a great time together. You’ll hopefully meet her at Christmas in Sweden. Your other grandmother, my mom (who has yet to decide on a grandmother name), arrives in just 4 weeks to help us out and meet you.
Your daddy is getting more and more excited each day. He checks in with you whenever I’m sitting or lying down. He loves when you kick and constantly comments on my belly. He’s even tested our baby carriers to see how well he can hold you while he programs. Look out! He’s planning to teach you to play Civilization 5 as soon as you arrive.
It’s pretty amazing how fast time has flown by, and you’ve really made it easy on me – no sickness, pain, swelling, or stretch marks yet, and barely any weight gain. Thank you! I think the only craving I had was for more fruits and veggies early on. Hopefully, the labor and delivery will go this smoothly too. I’m so curious to know how and when it will start – will the contractions just start hurting all of a sudden?
Every time I’ve met with my doctor or Kine, they’ve asked if I’ve felt contractions. Originally, I said no, but the doctor finally pointed out that I was having one during an appointment. I read that contractions happen since 6 weeks, but it’s not until the end that you feel them or that they get regular. I can now, sort of tell when I’m contracting, but then again, I’m not really sure. They don’t hurt and really are not countable yet.
I’m looking forward to snuggling you soon.
Love and Kisses,
Mama
