When I got back from the US and collected my mail from my neighbor, she looked at me kind of funny. We get by communicating on minimal French, but I’m sure she would have loved an explanation of this package…
What a clever reuse of packaging! It was from my ornament exchange partner at Cathie’s Corner. I sat there in awe of how she fit the ornaments through the tiny opening at the top. Finally, I had to email her to ask how to open it. She hinted to me to peel back the name label, and I discovered a door cut into the plastic. I think this may actually be the coolest packaging I’ve ever received.
My partner’s craft specialty is a drawing style she calls Tangles. She made me 3 ornaments featuring her tangles, and one for me to put together myself. She’s posted a tutorial on her blog – you just need 4 cardboard circles, a piece of ribbon, some glue, and a little bit of folding. I really liked her ornaments and immediately hung them up on our bookcase (no tree this year).
Thank you, Cathie! They’re fantastic.

How creative!!!!!! What a wonderful way to receive a gift! I would NEVER had though a plastic bottle could be sent thru the mail like this! Thanks for sharing!
This reminds me of the clever invitations you received to bar mitzvahs when you were in middle school.
That is such a neat idea for packaging! I also love the ornaments.
I love this! I’m floored that it only cost $3.96 to send! I know it’s got to be lightweight, but I’m suprised they didn’t charge some horrible “non-standard size and shape” fee like they do for envelopes.

Brit – The WIRED thing? What is that?
What a unique package indeed! I’m guessing she was thinking it would help with customs? Very cute ornaments! :)
