How far are you from Gent? It looks like an amazing place to have close by, and such interesting things for you to see...like the torture museum...I had never heard of water cure before, and to think it was performed in many other countries as well. Le Pain Quotidian sounds fantastic. You guys look great!

Isn't Ghent lovely? My husband and I were there in March of 2008 and had a great time. The castle is a lot of fun, and The Adoration of the Lamb is a must-see in my opinion. Glad you enjoyed it as well!

In fact there are NINE branches of Pain Quotidien in Brussels, so there's bound to be one near you: http://www.lepainquotidien.be/liste_magasins.php?langue=french&cle_menus=1152881541

Glad you enjoyed your trip here :)
And yes, of all the cities of been to, I like Gent the most and probably Leuven second. I've only ever been to Charleroi in Wallonia and I only saw the airport.

You hadn't been to a Pain Quotidien yet?! I believe there are 2 in Bruxelles (and I think I've eaten in both, lol)! It's absolutely the best place ever to have breakfast!!! I so miss there chocolat noir à tartiner! And you should stop by for lunch sometime too... salade de chèvre chaud... heaven! miam!

Is Belgium really the size of Maryland? I thought it smaller than that! An I also had Liège pegged for 2nd city in the country not 5th... I guess bias from living there! :p If you want a guide or company for Liège... I'll be back in town between September and November and would enjoy showing you around!

And yes, Ghent is so much more relaxing and easier to enjoy than Brugge!
