On with the Georgy adventures…this time we visited Knokke and Brugge.
Knokke is a ritsy-glitsy city on the coast. You’ll find your highrise condos, your fancy stores, and your expensive restaurants. We found the North Sea and whoa it was cold. Georgy and I decided to dip our feet in and just a quick moment was long enough. Then we wandered the boardwalk looking for some seafoody lunch. It was a pleasant morning and a fun place to visit. I think next time I might rent a bike to get around.
After lunch, we headed to Brugge. We had a waffle and some beer in the square, and then just wandered around the town. Honestly, Brugge is not my favorite place – it’s a little touristy and I haven’t found why it outshines other towns yet. Still, we had fun – it’s hard not to when you’re traveling with goofballs like these in the photos below. :)
I was a little disappointed with my photos from this trip. I only took my point and shoot and it doesn’t do as well with overcast skies. The rest of the photos from this trip are on Flickr:

P.S. If you’re looking at my actual site, rather than in a feed reader, you’ll see that something is different. I think all the sunshine and flowers this week have inspired me to try a brighter and cleaner look. I think I still need to add in some photos for a little color in the sidebar or header, but what do you think?

Gah! Now I read that Brugge is not so great? We just resolved to stay there 2 nights, because my father in law says it’s better than Brussels… hmmmm. He likes bikes and beer, so maybe he’s not my best resource. Dallas… 2 nights in Belgium… where would you stay?
Ghent is much better than Bruges! The architecure is just as beautiful, but it feels more real, more lived in! Bruges makes me think of a dollhouse… a city-sized museum with waaaaay too many tourists! It’s still beautiful though! ;)
