For Christmas/birthday this year, I received a new point and shoot camera – a Panasonic Lumix FS3. It is much easier to carry around for daily use than my DSLR. In fact, I haven’t really touched my DSLR in a couple weeks. One of the nice features on the new camera is that it can shoot video. I created a little video tour of our temporary apartment for the month of January, split it into two 3-minute clips. Please note that I usually prefer to be behind the camera.

Neat camera… Looks like it’s got newer/fancier (more mpix) sensors and a fairly different lens than the old G3 you had, but the G3 looked like it was built to be everything you could do without a SLR. How does this compare for general usage? Do you just use this for snapshots (and video, heh) and go get the SLR for macro or whatever…? Or does this pretty much do most of what the G3 did, only at higher resolution?

That was neat! I have actually seen a toilet with that type of flushing button here in the US.
Do you have snow boots? Maybe you need some kind of tall boots that you can tuck your jeans in to so your socks and pants will stay dry. I have no experience living with that much snow, but that’s the first thing that came to mind.

Cute little apartment, I noticed no freezer though, do you not have one or do they use an “ice box”? I also noticed that the fridge is much smaller than here in the States, so do you go to the market daily or is that fridge big enough for a few days worth of food? It’s super cute! I love it! Looks like you get lots of natural light, and it’s very European … yet still feels like it’s not too cramped.

Is the washer a combo washer/dryer? When I stayed in Berlin at a Xi sister’s apt. she had one (in her kitchen, no less) and it was the COOLEST EVER.
Steve says his landlady in England had a dryer but forbade him to use it because it was so expensive to run.
The camera and photographer did a great job of giving us a tour. I didn’t know the camera would make such a nice video. Cute apartment.

Cool apartment. Definitely bigger than I thought it was. Most European apartments are rather small and crowded. this was seems a little spacious and modern with it’s look and appliances.
