Wow, the video post got a few comments.  I might have to try that again sometime.  :)  In December, I signed up for one last swap before heading overseas.  Hopefully, I can now find international swaps – my sewing machine arrives tomorrow!

This Scarf Swap was organized by Sarah and Talia, and since it did not require a handmade scarf, I figured I could buy one if I ran out of time.  In the end though, I was able to make a very quick scarf.  I had originally bought this fabric without any plans just because it was so soft – suede on one side and lambs wool on the other.  Then, in Eddie Bauer, I saw a scarf just like this – the same fabric with just a simple hem.  Flip the fleece onto the suede side and stitch all around.  Easy-peasey.  I was very glad to figure out something to do with the fabric, and I have plenty to make a couple more scarves.

When I signed up, I was living in Atlanta and had to drag my coat out of the closet for the modeling photo. Now in Brussels, I have great use for a scarf, and thankfully, The Maiden Metallurgist sent me a very cute, warm scarf.  I wore it last night to go eat crepes.

Note: It looks like I’m doing a jig in that last photo, but Thomas snapped it just as I was sticking my hands in my pockets, or at least that’s the story I’m sticking to. :)
