So I’ve been a Stay at Home Wife (or as I prefer, Lady of the House) for a week now, and let me tell you, you can seriously get a lot done in a single day. I have followed the advice you all gave and made myself a list of all the errands I needed to run, and it worked. Almost the whole list is checked off already. It’s great to be able to regularly remind myself what needs to be done.
We’re progressing in our plans to move, but each day I switch from feeling ahead of the game to overwhelmed with all that still needs to be done. I’m more excited now about the plans to move over there – I’ve collected all of the documents I need, the relocation folks are finding us temporary housing in Brussels, and at least two weeks in January are already filled with Welcome to Belgium classes and house hunting. Now we just need to finalize our plane tickets to fly over.
The part that has me a little worried is getting our stuff here in order. Now is not the time to rent or sell a house, and I’m concerned that we’re going to run into some hurdles with that. We’re trying to get information on what all we need to do to prepare our house, and are still downsizing our belongings. I’ve started listing some of my fabrics on Ebay, if you’re interested, and I still have more left-over vintage sheets to list too. I’m hoping to get a giveaway posted soon.

Oh, wow! You are moving right along.
I stayed at home for 2 months before I had my daughter and then 13 months after her. I loved being able to go grocery shopping and run my errands during the day while the stores were empty.
Keeping a running list of things you need or want to do is a must. Then, if you ever find yourself lost, you can always refer to it. Enjoy this time off! Now that I’m back at work, juggling the baby and other responsibilities feels overwhelming at times.

Wow you are considering selling the bus! I think that is one of the saddest things I have read on your blog. You have shared so many stories with all of us, I didn’t think there would come a day when the bus would be gone.
I love the bus. That would be so hard to part with. My husband has wanted one of those for years. One day, maybe.
