No, I’m not an awesome blogger, hunted down by companies to review their products. And, no, I didn’t get a new car. But Monday I was PT Cruisin! My Honda Accord had to go back to the shop for more air conditioner work. Thankfully, the first repair held up for the drive to Raleigh. This time, I got them to lend me a car for the day – a PT Cruiser.
It was a fun car — for a day. Honestly, it was a little putzy and it felt like driving my VW Bus…a short bus, as in low to the ground. The seats were tall, so I sat straight up with my legs at right angles, just like my bus. The head rest was a nice change. And the shifter was long, like my bus. This was an automatic, but I kept reaching down to shift when I slowed and sped up. The radio speakers sucked, not much better than my tuneless bus. And there is absolutely no pick-up in this car. It’s faster than a bus, but it’s not going to pass any cars from a dead stop.
Still, it was fun to drive, pretty roomy, and much cleaner than my car. And now my Honda has working A/C again, which is not even an available feature in my bus.

I’ll have to share this with my 84 year old grandmother… she is sweet and mild and polite, but she has a wild and rabid loathing of the PT Cruiser… it’s quite startling to witness!! I can just see her nodding her head in a knowing way when we mention “it was a little putzy!”
Love your blog. And your crafts. Were you able to find the Heather Ross fabric? I got mine from e-bay.

not much better than my tuneless bus.
Tuneless?! I remember plenty of tunes in that bus! Even if they were played through a little tinny paper-cone speaker hidden somewhere near a chugging-and-yelling air-cooled engine. :)

who’s probably a lot more generous about a crappy stereo system in a VW bus than he would be about the one in a PT Cruiser
Yay for having a/c in the car again! That shifter is pretty cool though..
