Finishing Up the Year

I’m finishing up the year with three last photo sets. The SD card in my camera is now empty, and all the photos on my computer that will be posted, have been posted.

My parents returned our birding lens that we forgot at Thanksgiving, and Thomas and I spent much of our Christmas break using it. His new camera has a remote, so he set up the tripod outside and he stood inside to get his shots. I took mine from the deck.

Here are my favorite shots:

This next set is just a few photos of the centerpiece our friends gave us after their wedding. The light was just right through the kitchen window, so I grabbed my camera and took a couple shots. This rose was my favorite shot.

The last set is from yesterday. After my family headed home, Thomas and I took our bikes out to Big Creek Trail. The weather was gorgeous and we rode around 7 miles. We had never been there before, but it was a great trail with several wildlife preserve areas. We will definately go back sometime for better photos.

My favorite shot was this squirrel – I can’t tell if he was eating something in the mud, or knawing on the tree.

Christmas Morning

This was a wonderful Christmas this year. We hosted my family for a week, and we all had a great time eating, playing boardgames, watching movies, and napping. It was a very relaxed holiday.

I didn’t take that many people photos, but hopefully Thomas will post his soon. Here are some of my favorites of my Mom, Dad, and brother:

Boardgame Party

On December 13th, we went to a boardgame party at Julie and Karl’s house. We actually had three parties to go to that night, and unfortunately, we didn’t make it past this first one.

We played a couple of cool boardgames, and I had an especially good time visiting with the other girls’ and playing with their kids. I have recently been shy around kids, so it was fun to feel comfortable getting down on the floor and playing with them like I used to when I babysat.

Cookie Party

First, I’m sorry for the ton of posts I’m making this weekend…maybe about five. December was crazy with events, and I’m just trying to get these all posted before the end of the year. Start the new year out fresh and all…

This Cookie Party was on December 5th at Jane and Bill’s house and we had a great time. Thomas and I struggled to make something edible, but there were plenty of other tasty treats that others brought. We ate, chat, and took turns snuggling Baby Max.

Siblings and a Superstar

Yay, I finally got my photos from Thanksgiving posted. Yeah, it’s after Christmas, but it’s still 2007 at least. For Thanksgiving, we went to NC to visit Thomas’ sister. His brother was also in town, so there was lots of sibling love – aren’t they cute?

We also got to spend some time with Thomas’ niece, Amanda. I still get a little nervous around her, but I’m amazed how she is now a little person who can talk. She sported her superstar glasses for this photo.
