For this week’s Fun Monday, Hootin Annie asked us to play Mother May I. She had us take 30 Large steps in any direction from somewhere near or in our house. Then we take a photo of what we see and describe it.
I started in my bedroom and took the 30 steps. I ended up in my dining room.
This photo shows two little ceramic birds that I bought right before my wedding. I’m in a bird phase this year and I thought they were adorable. They’re sitting on my buffet in the dining room. Behind them is a glass terrarium that I just use for decoration. I love the detail of the metal holding the glass parts together. In front of them in one of my china plates. I had it out to try and match some colors for possible curtains or paint.
Then we were supposed to take 15 small steps backwards. I ended up in the living room/entry way.
This photo shows one of my dining room chairs holding a bunch of fabric I’ve been using recently. I don’t have a cutting table in my sewing room, so I use my dining room table, and this is where I tossed the left over fabric. In the background, you can see my laptop case sitting on another chair, and behind that are some amaryllis plants that I got a couple years ago. The little box next to the fabric chair is holding some scrapbooking paper and a really long ruler.

Cute little birds! At first I thought maybe they were a salt and pepper shaker. One of my grandmother’s (step) used to collect them and she had so many different kinds.
I love those birds. I scrolled down and saw your fabric and went to see the tote…do you have a pattern for it or are you blessed with the gift of just looking at something and being able to copy it?
You’re like me, I don’t feel like moving things out of the way to take pictures. That might mean cleaning my whole house. :D I like that glass cage.
Those birds are adorable!
My aunt has one of those glass terrariums and she decorates it each season.
That’s a terrific terrarium. I love the combo of glass and wrought iron-type metal.
I love the birds, especialy the way it looks like they’re talking to each other.
Love the first picture, the birds, the terarrium and the plate is nice too. Love the colors. This picture reminds me I have a terarrium sitting in my basement I haven’t brought out in ages. Might just have to go dig it out :o)
Kaytabug – Which tote are you referring to? I’ve made a bunch recently — and will post one more as soon as it arrives in my swap partner’s mailbox, hopefully this week. I’ve used a couple patterns to get the basic idea on how to make them, but mostly now I just use what I’ve learned and modify them as needed.
I loved your dining room pictures…very autumnal. Thanks for sharing.
Love your terrarium. Great for decorating. And, your chairs hold stuff the way mine do!
Those birds are very cute. I like collecting things like that also but it changes all the time.
I’m rather intrigued by the plate, lovely autumnal colours.
I like the lines of the second picture. It is fascinating to look at with the repeated motif of the chair in the background!
I love birds, but abhor knick knacks so I don’t collect, but I wanna.
Those birds are so precious!! I love the coloration,
Cute birds and I like the terrarium! Nice to see your piles of fabric, think I see some I’d like to snatch.
Love the birds…..love the plate…..can’t wait to go through your older posts. Have the Best of Weeks……Rosie
I love the birds and your beautiful, beautiful plate. I also enjoy the reality of your dining room chair holding your various projects.
