A Few More Formals

Sick of these photos yet? I’ll take a break on these for a bit after this post… But be warned – there are more. This group includes more of the formal photos. Thomas posted these today, but he did not have any time to do any editing or cropping.

Thomas' Pre-Wedding Photos

I didn’t get a chance to post Thomas’ pre-wedding photos last night, but he put a few on Flickr today. I love how the nature background really softens the photos. This is where the ceremony would have been, if Mother Nature hadn’t sent the rainstorms. Note: These photos have not had any editing or cropping yet.

A couple more photos

Just posting a couple more before I get on with all that I need to do tonight. Again, these were quickly edited and could probably be cleaned up a little more… You can see on our photographer’s blog how they look with a bit more editing.

Family Photos

Mom called me to see how some of the photos turned out, so I quickly posted these so she can see. Note: These were edited in a very basic program (Picasa) and could probably be cleaned up a bit more…

And finally, my favorite of Thomas’ family (taken by Bill Sirinek) — I think I have a photo like this from every time we’ve visited his mom, or she visits us.

How to Use Flickr.com

Thomas asked me if I could help him write up some quick directions on using Flickr, which is where we’ve posted a lot of our wedding photos. Here’s what I quickly came up with in case it helps any of you too – please do not judge my instructional design skill by this.

We use Flickr for our photo galleries because:

  • It’s free
  • It’s quick and easy to load
  • You can access it anywhere
  • You can load photos through email
  • You can privacy protect photos
  • You can leave comments on other’s photos
  • You can track newly posted photos with RSS feeds
  • And so on…

How to make a Flickr Account:

  1. Open http://flickr.com in your web browser.
  2. Click the pink Sign Up button.
  3. Log in with your Yahoo! ID, or if you don’t have one, click the blue Sign Up link.
  4. Fill in your information, and click I agree.

How to log into Flickr:

  1. Open http://flickr.com in your web broswer.
  2. Click the blue Sign In button in the top corner of the page.
  3. Enter your username and password and click Sign In.

How to upload photos:

  1. On your Flickr Home page, click the down arrow next to You in the top menu.
  2. Select Upload Photos.
  3. Use the Browse buttons to find your photos on your computer and click Upload.

How to add a photo to a group:

Note: A group is a collection of photos taken by different Flickr members. We’ve created a couple groups for our wedding events.

  1. You must first join a group, before adding photos to it.
  2. On your Flickr Home page, click Groups.
  3. Type a search term into the search box. For our groups, you can type Thomas and Dallas.
  4. Click on the title of the group you want to join.
  5. Click the blue Join this Group link and then click the Join this Group button.
  6. Now, to add photos to the group, click You on the top menu.
  7. Click on the photo you want to add to a group.
  8. Click Send to Group on top of the photo.
  9. Select the group you want and confirm.
  10. You can review your groups by clicking on Groups in the top menu.

Our groups are:

And if you want to add us on Flickr as Friends or Family:

  1. Click on the link below for our Flickr profile.
  2. On our profile page, click Add User as a contact.
  3. Select the kind of contact – Friend, Family, or just Contact
  4. And then we’ll show up in your contact list in the top menu.

Our Profiles:

Hopefully, that answers your Flickr questions, but please leave a comment if you have anymore. Sorry, I didn’t include screenshots.
