Bridal Shower

My bridesmaids threw me a bridal shower today – lingerie-themed. It was awesome, and I had a great time. The cake had a lingerie-clad Barbie admiring herself on top of it. And we tried using finger cymbals (a preview to the belly-dancing bachelorette party). And we ate, and drank, chatted, and opened some presents…

There were some funny ones (stripper shoes, and a thong that has a bell on it that says Ring when Ready), and some sexy ones (lace panties, and silk nighties), and some fun ones (the belly dancing kit, lotion, etc.)

I’ve posted some photos to Flickr of the party (Note: Any that actually show lingerie have been marked Friends/Family only, sorry).

Partly Sunny

Wedding Day Weather

Now that we’re two-weeks out, I can finally check the wedding day weather on Accuweather.com. So far, so good – partly sunny – though I know two-week forecasts don’t have much weight and could easily change. You can bet I’ll be checking this page regularly over the next couple of weeks.  Now, if we could just have a quick bit of rain this weekend to water my plants and grass and wash away the pollen.

Project 365 – Week 12

We’re down to two and a half weeks and we’ve been staying busy, so I’ll keep this short. Here’s last week’s Project365 photos. Click the photos to see more info in Flickr.

Sick of Spring Photos Yet?

Dogwood BloomsThomas got a new lens – 18 – 200mm with image stabilization – which will be really helpful in the Galapagos, so I hijacked it and took a few shots out in the yard. I love the lens by the way – thanks dear!

There is more spring showing in the yard, right now is mostly the two dogwoods in our backyard. Last year they hardly bloomed, but this year they’re loaded with flowers.

Beauty Salons with Thomas

My wedding hair and makeup stylist asked me to come in to try fake eyelashes. I was very skeptical about glueing fake hair to my face, but I gave it a try. It wasn’t that bad either – they didn’t make my eyes tear up, and they made my eyes look bigger. The only down side is that I kept wanting to touch my eye, and they were difficult to take off.

Thomas went with me and got a haircut. Since we’re three weeks out, she first gave him a haircut, then took it down shorter so it would be the right length in three weeks. It was his first time in a real salon – not a walk in Quick Cuts – and I think he was pleased. His haircut looks good.
