My dad and brother stayed at my house after Thanksgiving to rebuild my front porch. The porch was pretty shaky and they discovered that the construction was pretty unsafe too. They were going to reuse some of the wood, but they decided it would be safer to build it over from scratch.
Dad has spent a lot of time designing it. It will have the same footprint, but the stairs will angle out to provide more room for a flowerbed. In the photo, Dad is using a post digger to dig holes for the legs. I’m really impressed with the care they’re taking, and I’m excited to see how it turns out – hopefully later this week.
My weekend consisted of dealing with flu crud and raking leaves – over 30 bags so far.
